I'd find it really helpful to see what other people consider their favorite freckles (maxis match please). But there are so many freckles out there that I'm not even sure what to search to find what I want!
That will mean adding freckles manually to my sims with some kind of freckles make up. To make up for this, I'm going to start a new "genetics" system where I track all playables' genetics for features like freckles (and I'm thinking eyesight and hair texture/curliness too), and use random means at birth to determine which genes a sim inherits from each parent.
I'm aware of the risks of removing geneticized skins, but I'm thankfully not far enough in that any born in game sims are older than child, and all the playables started with a default, so I won't be messing up generations of genetics or anything, just fixing up born in game sims and townies). So this means getting rid of quite a few of my skins, including some of the freckled ones I adore, in my megahood (Yes, this is going to mean a headache in SimPE- I don't know why I do this to myself.
Lately, I came to the conclusion that as much as I love lots of different skins, I also love sim kids actually looking like a combination of their parents, and not inheriting a random skin that makes their features look drastically different, even if I love that random skin.
